I burned my lip. From this I have learned that I am a big wimp. Yay for self-knowledge. <_<

I'm also procrastinating. I should be getting ready for my vacation (cruise to Alaska), or at the very least sleeping, so I'll be more likely to do prep work later. Honestly, though, I find most vacations to be stressful, and I'm finding this one to be doubly so before even having left. I think I'll refrain from getting into the why of this.

I think I need another vacation at some point in the near future that involves traveling somewhere I specifically want to go, and with a friend or two, not family. Even after I take a week off for Alaska, I'll still have four weeks of vacation, so this is feasible, really.

Where should I go?

On the mundane and simple side, it'd be nice to see Montreal and Quebec - I went briefly in eighth grade, but didn't see any of Montreal, just bits of Quebec for two days.

I'd also really like to go back to France (yes, yes, I'll stop with the French-speaking countries any time now).

I've also never been to the UK, which is sad.

And I also have this insane desire to go to Morocco (okay, I liked about stopping with the French-speaking countries).

Bets are good that I won't get around to this any time soon, though.

MOROCCO. I so very very much want to go back there. And French is totally enough to get you around, at least in the cities I saw. If it weren't for the expense of international airfare -- stupid logistics -- I would say, OKAY LET'S GO.

Also, dude. Montreal! Let's! Pick a weekend, seriously. Sometime in June, maybe?

Also also: You should totally go to the UK. You would enjoy it. I advocate and campaign for this.

Mind you, I also advocate in general for you actually taking some of that vacation. :p

You caused me to look up air fare. It's your fault entirely.

I was actually surprised... lowest I could find to London in the six-month-near-future was $665. Morocco, I went with Casablanca as an assumption (start in the north, go round about and come back?) and it was only $813. So not retardedly more expensive - just all travel is expensive to start with.

Mwahahahahaha! Etc etc.

Yeah, there's that stupid Atlantic ocean in the way. Drat it! (And yeah, I think Casablanca is the most sensible place to fly to. That's where we flew in from Cairo, and promptly took the train elsewhere. I haven't ever actually seen Casablanca properly.)

With Morocco -- well, okay, my data here is something like six years old, but I just glanced at the exchange rate and it seems to match up still. But anyway, there's the advantage that the exchange rate is strongly in the dollar's favor, so the post-airfare travel expenses will be much less than in most of Europe. But there's still that pesky airfare there.

You want very badly to visit Arizona. The cacti are calling to you.

...I hate my brain. You just made it do this:

Oh Sandry-boooy
The cacti, they are caaalliiiing
From rock to rock
And 'cross the desert dryyyy

I have this sort of love-hate relationship with Arizona, though, which I'm hard-pressed to explain, but I can start with "my mum's got a house there."

I am super evil, because I made your brain do that and I don't even recognize the reference.

Wow, you don't know Danny Boy? Er, Londonderry Air? Er, whichever it is depending on who you are, what year it is and where you live plus some other mysteries of space and time?

You probably played it in fourth or fifth grade from some comparatively beginner lesson book, and just don't know the words.

You should travel! We all should! I propose a group cruise!

I would so do this. Because travel with you and friends = YAY.

Travel with mom = eeeaaagh.

Cruise...how...upscale. *Snicker* I can only say this because I am being dragged to one by my mom come August. (Yes, stuck on a boat with no escape for miles...hm....)

Come to the Scotland!

We can sit on the lawn looking at bag pipers in our 18-hour days.

And didn't you ever want to be a princess? There are castles up the wahzoo here.

Bwahaha, yeah, I relate entirely. And yes, the cruise thing wasn't my idea. Mom asks where I want to travel and I'm pretty much, "travel? Why?"

I would totally love to go to Scotland, though. I'd love to do a huge tour of the UK. I'm a huge dork and want to see the various mountains in Wales that they reference in The Dark is Rising series. /:
